Wrestlers Code of Conduct

1. I will show good sportsmanship at all times! Swearing, throwing head gear, kicking, hitting, talking back will not be tolerated.
2. I will respect and not criticize my teammates and I will treat my training partners in practice with respect and should not intentionally harm another wrestler.
3. I will control my temper.
4. I will respect the opposing team and shake hands at the conclusion of each dual/match.
5. I will not taunt or yell at opposing players and or teams.
6. I will respect referees and not openly criticize them. I will remember that they are in control of the match/dual, and that they are human and will make mistakes. The referees will have the last word, even if it results in me being asked to leave the event. No verbal, physical or psychological abuse of any other wrestler, coach, parent or
tournament official. All wrestlers will treat each other, parents, coaches and officials with respect and dignity regarding language, attitude, behavior and mannerisms. Violations of this rule are disciplined according to the Consequences Policy.
7. I will not make any alterations to club-issued apparel or equipment that must be returned and I understand that I will be held financially responsible for any damages to club-issued items. I will return any club issued equipment promptly at the end of the season.
8. I will strive to give my all, and practice my hardest and be the best partner I can.
9. I will play hard and fair at all times.
10. I will do my best to be on time; attend practice on a regular basis.
11. I will not speak on behalf of the club in forums, chat rooms etc.
12. I will Respect the property and equipment used at any sports facility, both home and away, especially while representing MAWC.
13. I will understand that Mat Assassins Wrestling Club is a non-profit organization and I will participate in volunteer activities such as the tournament and fundraising activities in order to keep club dues affordable for all families who wish to participate.
14. I understand that the above listed standards are not negotiable and must be adhered to.
Guidelines for Wrestlers
• Wrestle in a “clean” manner with no intent to harm their opponent.
• Come to each tournament, meet, or practice ready to train and should give their complete
attention to the coaches.
Consequences for Wrestlers
1. Verbal warning
2. Written warning
3. Tournament and/or practice suspensions
4. Removal from the MAWC program
